Goals of advising in EFL

  • To help the student select an academic program that will best meet his/her needs, interests, and career plans.
  • To develop a stable, supportive one-on-one relationship with the student to better sustain progress through his/her academic program.
  • To assist the student in acquiring information about university requirements and student services.
  • To encourage the student to complete his/her degree program in a timely manner.
  • To support the student in making plans for a future career and/or further academic study.
