Goals of advising in EFL

To help the student select an academic program that will best meet his/her needs, interests, and career plans.
To develop a stable, supportive one-on-one relationship with the student to better sustain progress through his/her academic program.
To assist the student in acquiring information about university requirements and student services.
To encourage the student to complete his/her degree program in a timely manner.
To support the student in making plans for a future career and/or further academic study.
