Choice Voice showcases both the best essays from English 1101 and the winners and runners-up from the Goldburg Award contest for best English 1102 essay. The Choice Voice editorial board consists entirely of ASU students who have demonstrated strong writing skills. The board meets on Friday afternoons under the faculty guidance of Ms. Angela Whittington and Dr. Tim Sadenwasser to judge and edit submitted English 1101 essays, to lay out and design the annual publication, and to share delicious, often homemade snacks and desserts.
Choice Voice offers ASU students the unique opportunity to have their fine work recognized across campus. Besides getting to see their work in print, winners are invited to read their essays at public readings, and English 1101 and 1102 instructors frequently use winning essays as teaching tools in their classrooms.
