established her own literary agency in New York in 1994 after some thirty years of experience as an editor, publisher and agent. Her company has been described as "maverick," concerned with not only selling literary properties but with developing them. Pulitzer prize-winning journalists Gilbert Gaul and Lou Kilzer are among authors handled by Jane Dystel Literary Management.
